Animals have a lot of saliva in their mouth and many a tips the Saliva is very thick or very acidic and may contain chemicals and substances which are not good for the human skin.

Immediately wash your hand with good amount of water and soap and keep washing till all the saliva is flushed off all the areas where the animal has bitten.

Next use Hydrogen Peroxide or any good Antiseptic (Dettol, Savlon) to clean the wound of the wound and the dead cells and blood.

Apply an antibiotic cream on the bite wound so that immediate infection can be prevented.

After applying Antibiotic cream, rinse the surrounding parts clean and the ndry up the wound and surrounding area and then cover up the whole area with a Dressing bandage or a clean cotton cloth.

Consult your doctor for further advice and treatment as there are chances of having Redness with Swelling, Fever, with pus formation which is a very painful condition. Flu like symptoms may appear along with Lymph node enlargement.

Consult your doctor for a shot of Tetanus Toxoid and probably Anti - Rabies Vaccination.
