The essential oils that form the core of the aromatherapy are used in 3 different ways:-
Diffusion in the air: The essential oils are dispersed in the air with the help of a diffuser. This is done to add fragrance to the atmosphere and environment or to disinfect the air.
As Inhaler: The aromatherapy oils are inhaled directly as a remedy to cure congestion in nose, throat and respiratory tract. They have also been proved to be highly beneficial for treating psychological problems.
As Applicator: The various essential oils are applied to head, body and hair in the form of massage to refresh and rejuvenate them. In addition to this they are also used as skin care products.
Aromatherapy uses various types of flower extracts like rose absolute or rose water, chammolie aqueous solution, lavender oil extracts, eucalyptus oil. Some of these extracts are taken from herbs and tree leaves and might be very harsh on skin directly, hence they need to be diffused with some other oils like coconut oil, jojoba oil, almond oil etc. to make them subtle on skin.
